CEO’s Message

Monday, December 15, 2025 marked more than a name change, — it marked a strategic evolution and an important milestone whereby Malta Investments & Economic Advisory was launched.

Malta Investments & Economic Advisory (MIEA) emerged from the merger of Malta Government Investments (MGI), Malta Investments Management Company (MIMCOL), and Malta Strategic Partnership Projects. (MSPP), forming a unified entity with a sharper mandate: to drive sustainable economic growth through strategic insight, collaborative partnerships, and transparent stewardship of public assets.

MIEA builds on the legacy of its predecessor entities while introducing new capabilities through the Strategic Analysis and Development Unit, (SADU) — a dedicated team supporting Malta’s economic vision in line with national priorities. From policy development and investment oversight to public-private partnerships and corporate support services, MIEA is designed to be a trusted partner for both the Government and the private sector.

We invite you to explore this our website to learn more about our mission, services, and opportunities for engagement. Minister's Message

Last December, I had the privilege of launching Malta Investments & Economic Advisory (MIEA), a new entity created through the strategic merger of Malta MGI, MIMCOL, and MSPP. This reform is a key part of our wider public sector modernisation programme and reflects our commitment to strengthening governance, reducing bureaucracy, and creating a more coordinated and efficient economic framework.

Through MIEA, we are consolidating government investment functions under one structure, eliminating duplication, enhancing accountability, and ensuring that citizens and businesses remain at the heart of our administration. For the first time, the Ministry can also rely on a dedicated economic advisory arm to provide market intelligence, data analysis, and strategic guidance to better inform our national priorities.

MIEA will play a central role in strengthening oversight across public companies and ensuring that public-private partnerships and major strategic projects are evaluated through a transparent and forward-looking framework. With the establishment of the Strategic Analysis and Development Unit (SADU), we are reinforcing Government’s ability to plan for the long term, anticipate risks, and seize emerging opportunities through evidence-based policy making. These reforms, aligned with Malta Vision 2050, are designed to build an economy that is resilient, sustainable, and inclusive, delivering long-term value for our country, our businesses, and future generations.

Mission

The primary objective of Malta Investments & Economic Advisory (MIEA) is to support Government in driving sustainable and balanced economic growth through strategic investment, strong governance, and effective partnerships.

As a central hub providing strategic guidance to subsidiaries, public entities, and the wider public sector, MIEA promotes Public-Private Partnerships and serves as the economic advisory arm to the Ministry for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects.

Through professional advisory services, focused oversight, and collaboration across sectors, MIEA creates long-term economic, social, and strategic value.

Vision

To support the shaping of a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready Maltese economy — powered by innovation, collaboration, and sustainable value creation across public and private sectors.

Logo Narrative

The MIEA logo is a modern, simplified interpretation of the Maltese cross. Using softer geometry and a circular container, it retains the traditional eight-point structure historically associated with service, courage, and commitment.

This contemporary approach preserves symbolic heritage while conveying approachability, clarity, strength, and purpose — reflecting MIEA’s role as a modern, forward-looking national institution.
